It was a great festival, the biggest yet!
By my reckoning over a thousand cars...???
It was hot, and there was plenty of eye candy.
Good to catch up with a few of the Kiwi HAMBers and many other friends stalking the bargains.
I took no pix but it was a great day.
I trust Sunday was just as good, over to you alfster http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif ...

It was indeed a best and biggest yet. Chris Hornblows 5 inch chopped A coupe was shit hot as was the repro A roadsters of John Key. Lotsa banger powered A's which was good! As usual the Low Rider boys always turned heads. Saturday night was great with the party at Larry's up the road featuring Al Dawson!

Paper this morning reckons 40,000 people and 2000 cars (in a city of 1 million), it sure was busy, as per usual the variety of people and vehicles was the killer, everything from 1910 to 2004 some real rare stuff there too.
Off to get some film developed today, good to catch up with everone even if you didn't drink the beers !!! alfster you moved yesterday before I had a chance to whip out the camera.

You got it Terrance, out at the A&P grounds, I thaught you were thinking of heading over for the show this year ?? you need to check it out, drag the old man out for a visit next year, hell a couple of weeks off and outa the cold winter would be a good idea....

Terrence, I presume you are talking of Terry Vaughn who went to work at Posies when he left NZ? Terry Vaughn is a well known name in rodding circles with his Model A tourer now owned by Wayne Bishop, the Volksrod which now is the body to the Piaggi and Pavlovich Burger Fuel drag car. Terry was also responsible for a number of 33-34 Ford hot rod frames including the Kevin Saran 33 Tudor built by Steve Dally.

Best regards,

Greg

I missed it as I was in the states I did get to go the So-Cal and pick up a screen though $200 taxi ride was a bit on the tough to swallow side the driver was cool though he turned off the meter and waited for me
The screen cost more than buying off the net as the guys at the shop charged me sales tax even though it was going out of the country Oh well live and learn
My car was there though and the little lady went along in her lotus and got adopted by a bunch of muscle car guys

Saw a very nice model A pickup in Anaheim sort of pinky primer

I always wondered what happened to the volksrod body.
