Was digging thru the Jan 00 (page 188) issue of Street Rodder last night and came across coverage of the Outriders Pinic '99. There was a pic of a flat black full fendered Model A sedan with a white top, whitewalls and hubcaps. It said it was once owned buy Shifters CC menber Kevan Sledge. Does anyone have any pics of that car. It has the look I am going after and would love to see other pics of it..

RF do you have any pics of it, I think you did the coverage

Not the exact car but I thank you for those..

Laverda, is that your car.. Do you know any details on it (axle drop, spring used). the different wheels really changes the feel of the car.. I really like it

If other have some pics of Sedans done in a style similar to the above two please post (shiny paint is fine also)

laverda,. Thank you Thank you Thank you. Really dig the green one (the color I am thinking of going with) and the bronze hiboy.. Are these pics on your starbvld site. these are the type of pics I was looking for a few weeks back when i was trying to decide on what style I wanted to build. The fenderless version you posted are some of the nicer ones I have seen and are what I had in my head when I think fenderless

If you have more please share as I think you taste are in line with mine.. or if you have a starphoto area let me know the name so I can find it and look thru the pics

Lowlife thanks for the pic..

Last set Boones ...
This one is interesting (except for the diamond plate??). Set back hemi, appears to have one seat (on the right?) and a cage. Ex-racer? or a clone.

This is what I meant by the sedan curse of a 'cartoony' outcome. A nice car but the colour etc reminds me of a carnival display ... not a car with hot rod 'tude. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

PS if you have high speed 'net access you could waste many days on this site... Dave Lindsay (http://public.fotki.com/wackydave/) Many of the photos/ideas I find are here .... but there
is A LOT!

Photography does not do that blue suede Cdan any justice. I saw it at BP in 03 and I swear everytime I walked past I took a photo of it. VERY nice car,,,

I guess I should Google first ...

Jack Chrisman Info (http://www.nhra.com/50th/top50/J_Chrisman23.html)

"He didn't find his way to a dragstrip until 1953, when he campaigned a '29 Model-A Ford with a flathead, and later an injected 354-cid Chrysler that ran both gas and nitro. Chrisman raced the Chrysler for four years and was a fixture at tracks such as Santa Ana, Saugus, Pomona, Lions, and San Fernando. "

... any more would be great (especially pics http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif)

Lowlife, Looking at my pic, it does not appear to be the one. I will scan the pic this weekend and post it

Laverda.. The blue sedan you posted as being cartoony is better in person. It makes you stop in your tracks and take pics of it.. Really nice car and it sits nice (the angle of that pic does not do it justice...)

More on Jack Chrisman's sedan:

He originally built it for the street. When it was completed he decided it was too nice to drive on the street, and took it drag racing! I saw it at Santa Ana around '54, when it was running a fuel flathead. It had a full hood then, which made it look cool and sinister. The pinstriped grille insert was by Von Dutch.
Bitchin' car!!
