Hey, I got another Desk Top Art Work done. This one (#61) is an ordered car heading for Milwaukee. It is my rendition of a guys drit track modified coupe. It's lift off body reviels the detailed chassis.
I'm also throwing on the pictures of the 57 Chevy I snuck in at the end of last week, just in case you mised it...:D The 57 is a Christmas present.
I have one more race car Art Work to build, then I have a couple to knock out for a couple of HAMBers. Gene

Thanks for the compliments. :D I really am having some fun with these now. I'm getting them done more quickly too, but am determined not to let the details fall off. Those 50s style bodies are tough to do, the compound curves are hard to duplicate with the equipment I have. These things are only between 8" and 10" long. The 60s, 70s, and newer scare me to death. The next one up is a dirt track modified with an early Corvair body. The guy wants it built pulling a left front wheel, while doing a power slide! Should be interesting... Pictures are of the Corvair modified. Gene

.........well, I might as well milk it a little more. For those that didn't read my "Traditional Tattoo" post, here's my latest birthday tattoo. I have waited a while for it and am happy to finally have it done. My only regret is that I haven't had a chance to get up and visit "ScaryLarry" and get it slapped!
Thanks so much for all the positive comments on the other post.

Looks like the base (underside) of a ceramic bowl to me. Whodaky does choose some ofbeat media to add interest to his work, Or is it that his work adds interest to somee offbeat media? Whatever, it's always cool and super intricate..

Here's a little metal box I did this week for a friend's 60th birthday gift. It'll have a bottle of bourbon packed inside so he'll probably chuck the box out with the wrapping.

Also started work on another model car. Decided it's time I duplicated a real car in scale, so I picked one I'm intimately familliar with. Hope even at this early stage it may be recognisable to some of you here.

A lot of cool stuff. Here's one for the rat bikers.
That's got to be one of the neatest little rodents I've seen ever! Great stuff!
This post has gotten to be one of my favorite times of the week.Hats off to EVERYONE who participates!
I've been doing a lot of production work this week(again);gotta pay the bills and such. This pic isn't really auto related but I figured I'd post it anyway.
I was going back through some old pictures when I came across this one. It's a picture of the bed I had when I was a kid living with my grandparents.Apparently the bed belonged to someone in the family who had passed away many years before.
I was just starting to learn to stripe so anything in the house was considered fair game.I was using an old Grumbacher 1010 size 00(paid $1.49 for it)with Red Devil Light Blue paint thinned with turpentine. If you look closely, you can make out the striping on the footboard.
Boy was my grandfather pissed when he saw what I had done!
The second picture is the lettering I did on my friend Jerry Bennett's 57 Safari when he was building it as a race car in 1963. Done on the dashboard with Rust-O-Leum white and thinned with turpentine.I think I used an old Grumbacher lettering quill. The Safari has been sitting in my garage for the last 10 years.
End of memory lane trip;the holidays seem to do that to me nowadays.

That's a great story about your first pinstriping on the footboard of a bed........can't believe you did that almost 50 years ago............to stripe is to stay young at heart! :) .......and your very young at heart!! Thanks!
