I just read a blurb on the latest incarnation.Apparently the IDA's (downdrafts) are the primary and the DCOE's (sidedrafts) are the secoundaries (or vice-versa). Does seem just a tad overcarberated, eh ? He must have those suckers choked down like crazy. But damn it sure looks cool.

In my personal opinion, this set-up is gay.

Either the sidedrafts or the downdrafts would be cool, but both are just plain gay.

That car is a full on DRIVER. He's driven it from the SF bay area to Vegas. No bags just regular air shocks in the rear. The front rides just as you see it.

Nice thing about Webers is their near infinate tunability. a pair of 48 IDA's can be set up to run in a 1600 VW, then retuned to flow almost 1000 CFM. The secret is their removable venturis. You can chance the CFM of the carbs easily, and they can be set up to run on anything.

I had heard rumors it was driven but it seems so low (and I have driven lowered and bagged trucks for years) that it just seems like it would destroy itself..

It would also amaze me if all of those carbs are hooked up. I thought that maybe either the top or sides would have block off plates and be just for show and attention. Its a great advertising piece for the company that sells them...

When I saw that car at Paso in 2002, it was ONLY suspended by a pair of airshocks at the rear... no springs. Seemed a little ragged-edge to me. I dig the look, but build quality seemed sketchy back then... don't know what it looks like now.
