I have a 62 comet with a 200 inline 6. It has a 12 volt generator, what kind of alternator will i have to put on it, and are there any other mods i will have to do? Thanks Nate

Hey buddy, I THINK that everyone uses a GM 1 or 3 wire alternator, not sure what the advantages of each are, probably just how much crap you plan on running off of it. Check on the search function for a how to, it may even be in Tech O Matic.

I bolted on a complete alt & regulator from a 1978 fairmont 200 cid engine onto my 170 cid 1962 Falcon. I had to trim the fairmont bracket down a bit since it was setup for bolting more stuff to it.

measured up for a custom length belt and it works great.

I bought a new regulator for a 78 fairmont application.

I had to do some rewire with the help of a diagram I found on the net. It functions with the OE idiot light too.
