Bought a second hand lathe recently and while looking for info I stumbled across these army handbooks in PDF format. All downloadable for free, and they print out great. I'm of course interested in the lathe chapter (wich pretty much is a "lathe for dummies" course in 68 pages), but Appendix A: tables is full of invaluable reference info, I'm gonna print that out and wallpaper my shop with.

BTTT--I think practically everyone needs to see this, and the section of tables of drill&tap sizes and such is wonderful.
By the way, Christian, didn't you post a story about a problem with a certain domestic machine tool that went haywire a couple of years ago, spattering your kitchen...everyone wants to see that again...
