I've got that song stuck in my head now http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Little deuce Coupe
You don't know what I got
Little deuce Coupe
You don't know what I got

Well I'm not braggin' babe so don't put me down
But I've got the fastest set of wheels in town
When something comes up to me he don't even try
Cause if it had a set of wings man I know she could fly
She's my little deuce coupe
You don't know what I got
(My little deuce coupe)
(You don't know what I got)

Just a little deuce coupe with a flat head mill
But she'll walk a Thunderbird like it's standin' still
She's ported and relieved and she's stroked and bored.
She'll do a hundred and forty with the top end floored
She's my little deuce coupe
You don't know what I got
(My little deuce coupe)
(You don't know what I got)

She's got a competition clutch with the four on the floor
And she purrs like a kitten till the lake pipes roar
And if that aint enough to make you flip your lid
There's one more thing, I got the pink slip daddy

And comin' off the line when the light turns green
Well she blows 'em outta the water like you never seen
I get pushed out of shape and it's hard to steer
When I get rubber in all four gears

She's my little deuce coupe
You don't know what I got
(My little deuce coupe)
(You don't know what I got)
She's my little deuce coupe
You don't know what I got
(My little deuce coupe)
(You don't know what I got)
She's my little deuce coupe
You don't know what I got

Price is good. And if the pic is any indication should be sweet.
Glad to see the 60s stuff makin' a comeback. Kinda makes me cutting edge http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif or not.
BTW my favorite tune from that era was Deadman's Curve, I don't remember the lyrics but I've always wanted to build The Jack.

I love the 60's style, would be a shame not to build my own grill shell http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Deadmans curve, almost a beach boys song http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The street was desserted late Friday night
We were buggin' each other while we sat out the light
We both popped our clutch when the light turned green
You should have heard the wine from my screamin' machine
I flew past La Brea, down to Crescent Heights
And all the Jag could see were my six tail lights
He passed me at Doheny and I started to swerve
But I pulled her out and there we were at Deadman's Curve
Deadman's Curve is no place to play
Deadman's Curve

Well, the last thing I remember Doc.
I started to swerve, and then I saw the Jag slide into the curb I know I'll never forget that horrible sight
I found out for myself, that everyone was right

Won't come back from Deadman's Curve
Deadman's Curve is no place to play
Deadman's Curve you best keep away
Deadman's Curve I can hear them say
Won't come back from Deadman's Curve

Actually, Dead Man's Curve is Jan & Dean. They also did Drag City! And a song that would fit right in around here. My favorite...Schlock Rod http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You ever wonder what the Beach Boys would sing about if they were kids today?

I've got a 98 Honda with a V-Tec Mill and she'll walk a Geo Metro like she's standing still........it's got a bolt on wing and decals more......she'll do 78 in the top end floored. OK that's enough.... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Hence the "Almost a Beach boys tune" Brian Wilson was credited along with Jan and Dean I think.

Tom the early corvettes were sixes.

1953-1954 Corvettes
Series No. Body/Style No. Body Type Factory Price Shipping Weight Production Total
2934 2934
2-dr. Roadster - 2 passenger $2774 2705 lb 3640

ENGINE

The Corvette engine was surprisingly a six-cylinder, inline, overhead valve unit with a cast iron block. It displaced 235.5 cid (3.9 liters) with a bore of 3.56 in. (90mm) and a stroke of 3.96 in. (100mm) and a compression of 8.0:1. It produced 150 hp @ 4200 rpm. The ignition had a single breaker point. The carburetor was a three Carter Type YH one-barrel Model 2066S. Later in the model year, a new camshaft increased the horsepower to 155

A popular "customizing" feature was to add 2 taillights (1 on each side) to the 61-62 and 63-67 Corvette rear body which then gave it "six taillights". This was about the same time as the "Little Deuce Coupe" Cool grille shell. overspray

Petejoe' I am well aware the early vet motors were sixes, overspray was talking about "THE SIX TAIL LIGHTS" in the Jan & Dean song Dead Mans Curve. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It looks more like the AlaKart front end than the "little deuce coupe" front, although it's not a direct copy of it either.

Since all customs should be custom, one off, (otherwise it's the same as all the Civics with the same aftermarket "custom front bumper") I think this is and should be considered a starting point for further modifications.
Looks good too, but I can't tell if it has the desired hood recess at the back edge or not, does it?

When Corvette Sting Rays were cool in the 60's they were far from the sacred "Restorer's Cars" they are today. Around here anyway there were more of them with the added tail lights than not. It seemd like the natural thing to do since there is that vacant spot there just begging for the extra light. Made it more "Impala looking" rather than BelAir looking, with the more lights.
