View Full Version : How do you do carson tops?

I have a mate over here who has got a vauxhall wyvern convert .He wants to do a carson top is there any old posts on this or any books around to help.. any help would be great thanks. I will try and get a photo of the car.

There's a small How-To right here on Jalopy Journal. Just go to the main Jalopy Journal page and search around for it a bit. I can't remember exactly where I found it on here, but it's pretty good.

There was an article on how to do one in R & C a few years back. Had pics and everything. I'll have to check my old issues and get back w/ ya.

OOPS! My mistake! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif It was Street Rodder, July of 2001, Vol. 30/#7. And it was an article on how to COVER a Carson top, not build one. But with the pics they had, you could probably figure it out pretty easy- just chicken wire and electrical conduit.

there WAS one n rod and custom a while back...don't remember how long though..it was done with conduit and chicken wire..go to their site, it may be in the tech section.......
