Long time viewer, first time poster. I own a custom metal shop in the DFW area and am more than happy to help out any fellow HAMBers in the area. One of my current projects is my '50 Ford shoebox which will stick around to become a shop car. I will post updates as I go along, as it will probably take some time. I plan on doing a sweet chop and heavy mods, so hopefully it will offer some insight to those who are interested. As of right now I can't decide on keeping the frame or switching to an s10. Anyway...my daily driver is a '64 Volvo 122s wagon that is still runnin' hard (nothing seems to hurt this car). I'm planning on giving this car the works too and hand it over to the wife, as this was her old man's first car.
If you're local let me hear from ya.

Thanks for the replies! Makes me feel at home already. I've noticed that there seems to be quite a few members in the DFW area, with more joining every day. Maybe in the future we can set up a little something where we can get togther on a project...
By the way my shop is located in downtown "wide awake Wylie" just outside of Plano. There's a map on my website (if you click on it, it will bring up mapquest).

Not a problem carpunk. I think one of the first tech thingys i'll post will be on finding the curves and stations for the individual pieces on a custom grill using foam as a template.

Whats up slide? Yeah i'm planning on going to P & P. No, the shoe isn't running, just a shell and frame. The floors, mounts, rockers, and lower quaters all have to be replaced, before I can chop her. When all the body mods are done i'll hopefully have a drive train ready to go. It will bring a tear to my eye when all said and done. I've worked on so many other people's cars and see them drive off, this will be the first one for me.
I guess I could drive my volvo down to P&P,as it is all orignal with dual carbs on the glorified tractor engine, but I don't want to laughed into another state!!
