Give me about an hour and I will have some shots for you. Got home late last night, didn't get them uploaded. I don't have a place to post them, so I'll just upload the nicer ones up here for now...

wasnt a bomb but there really wasnt really anything new to see most were all cars us up here are firmilliar with, which is probely why no one is talkin about it, there were about 100 cars and i think it was well recieved, but no painted cars were allowed which kinda sucked,
there was one car i havent seen before it was a pretty insane little 29 roadster in bare metal, way low runnin a inline 6....lot of nice fab on that one....hope someone has pics!

Likewise... nothing there for the most part. I've pretty much seen anything worth a shit there for 10 bucks at Billetproof, only now I had to pay 15 bucks to get in, and 8 to park the goddamn car, and everything was roped off. Annoying. But I had an alright time.
I'm quickly not liking the term "rat rod"... it's now become what the yuppy rodders call folks with low budget rods and customs, as we call them "goldchainers".
Anyway, I don't have somewhere to post all my photos, so I'll post a few that are pretty nice here. SOrry I didn't get any shots of that '29.

I hope you didn't pay $10 to get in to Billetproof. Admission is only $5 to walk in. Plus no fee for parking. And some even complained about THAT.
The show was good for a first try. There is always a learning curve. The area we were in was by far the busiest and best place to be. We handed out like 300 beers at the Billetproof booth.

My bad, Kirk. Even better... 5 bucks. Less then I paid to park my car at the show! I'll admit some of those show cars are really nice... but only worth it to see 'em for the first time, like I did. BP is definatly the show to wait for.
Here's Shine's truck...

Here's Pat's roadster. There is too much amazing work on this thing to even list. I took 38 pics of details. Four years in the making. He's almost done.

Pretty much everything else was at Billetproof. But it was cool drinking with everyone. But man I'm still tired after five 12+ hour days there.

On account we're hungry for more kool-assed cars around here, that looked like a good show. Lotta nice rides in Billetproofs pics, also in the background.

My mom's boyfriend was talkin to one of the judges about that car. Apparently it would've recieved a higher score if he was able to see the engine and underbelly of the car, still a bitchin cadillac though!
I like that Caddy Convert a LOT!... Except for that zit on the side of the hood... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

next year register your car! it's $35, you get- 2passes for all 3 days, 2 parking passes for all 3 days, a goodie bag and a plaque plus all the free beer from kirk you can drink. i own the 26 roadster in red oxide that kirk showed a pic of. it was built in the late 40's and been in storage for 40 years. with the help of some good friends we got it running at 1:30 am day of registration. i drove it with a dead plate that was last registered in 1966 with no title and no running light in rear. the radiator was repaired and the paint was still wet when we put it in! this show was a great success in my mind because we as lo buck home built kinda of people are being noticed and appreciated by the general public. not that i necessarily care what "they" think but this show will open doors in the future. we won't have to go out to the parking lot to see the real car show any more. i think rick perry was wise to include us and i anticipate this being a huge step forward in the car circuit. our cars were in a seperate building from the other show cars and our building was always more crowded than upstairs. most people aren't aware that you can build and drive a cool car for less than $10k (way less). open their eyes! also want to give props to rolf brittan, kirk showed a pic of his chopped 36 pick up. he was the guy organizing all of us. he paints for brizio and drives a flat black car! he did a great job, happy birthday rolf.

Elvis would kick someones ass if he was here to see that car. He had more class than that. The PT Streetrod makes me laugh. I laugh harder at the Streetrod guys who paint 37 PT Cruiser on there 37 Fords or Chevys. I will admit my wife's car is a PT Cruiser. Better than a mini van. Dean

hey kirk can you bring the mag and i'll bring the moolah? dondanno, it seems to be slated for the same weekend (approximately) next year. i know it's a ways away but you can call rolf directly at 415-879-0294. tell him stevo sent ya, we just had dinner and i told him people are already starting to ask about next year. i can also tell you that he purposely does not judge who gets into the show. he doesn't want to play favorites. take care, stevo

iggy don't know if you're pulling my chain (maybe some one i know) but i just sold the fighter pilot "a" roadster. it was still listed in my name on the program for sale. i now have the red oxide model t roadster kirk put a pic of. my old car was a real fast go kart. stretched a foot, z'd 9" chanelled 7". it had 4 bar rear with coil overs and a panhard bar. up front was a vega box and a olds 350 with dual quads. sure miss it right now but time and my new roadster will mend my broken ego? stevo
