I'm new to the HAMB but been a peeping tom watching the site for some time. I'm a third generation car guy and been building my own rides since the late '70's. Right now I've got one ride on the road (1937 Chevy) and another in the works (1940 Ford pick). Tin banging and fabrication are the best part of the build and the truck has plenty so far. Still got some time before it's on the road. I use to do hot rod art on the side but lately I'd rather work on my own ride than draw somebody elses. I met some HAMBers at the first two billet proof shows here in Michigan and looking forward to becoming part of the HAMB community.

Any Michigan or Canadian rodders out there?

GMB - nice, I'm sure it's meant in a good way.

I made it to Barrie this year but not in the 40 pickup. I'm still wrenching on that one. My driver right now is a 37 Chevy Sedan. It has hauled the family around great for the past 8 years but it's not in the proper HAMB style.

Did you make it to Barrie? The Barrie area was great but the actual grounds were a bit of a let down. Compared to the waterfront in Hamilton or the Georgen bay. It's still a good time and my favorite show to hit the hotel parking lot in the evening and kick back a few. I'll be back next year.

Didn't do the Canats this past year but was up to Owen Sound at last years...........I was at Hamilton also and your right, the waterfront is great! Sounds like the 37 was built well.......hopefully our paths will cross sometime soon! Welcome again to the HAMB!!!

Hey Pete,

Good to know there are neighbors here on HAMB. I think I have seen your ride around the area. Maybe at the A&W cruise in Flushing?

Joe,

Is your ride the super straight black paint with grey interior?

Here is a few pics. I'm still messing with the exhaust to get a little more clearence but that's what hot rodding is all about right? Yeah I was in Engineering at Chrysler for 32 years retired in 2003. Now playing with the toys.

I live in Clio, work in Flint. If you saw one of MY cars at the Flushing A&W, you probably thought "look at this asshole...":D
I have a flat black '62 Chevy II (LOUD & FAST), and a flat tan '55 chevy (Also LOUD & kinda FAST:D ).

If you saw me there, I'd be the one with 20 pounds of metal in his face, ragging on trailer queens....

Anyway, Welcome to the HAMB...

Sweet 40! The engine must have been a natural for you. Is that the stock maroon color that they had in 40? It is one of the colors I am considering when mine gets paint. Have you had the car out much yet?

Tim,

My folks are Dick and Kathy. Nut doesn't fall far...

The color is close to the original color but is base/clear dupont color from 77 lincoln I think it is maderra maroon. As for the Hemi I always wanted to build one of the old style 392's and wanted a 40 Ford for awhile so the two came together in my project. I did not get too far on the road since the exhaust hits so back to the drawing board for that. If you know of someone who bends exhaust let me know.

Joe,

Cool ride. Ya can't beat black with a red interior. The wheel / tire combo really nails the look.
