Actually I think it was Custom Classic Trucks but it wouldn't fit on the title bar.


I just have one complaint and then I'll shut up....


PLEASE cover something other than mid 50's Fords and Chevies. I used to buy the mag when I built my 53 F100 but I am in the build mode for my 36 Ford and I need some motivation! There are a lot of neat old trucks out there but no one seems to cover them.

My good friend & editor of "Classic Trucks" is on here (looong time lurker and rare poster), but NOT the magazine you are talking about. He does a good job covering '49 to '72 material. The earlier stuff is considered "Street Rodder" territory, but earlier truks are known to pop up.

Not that I am trying to kiss up to Court but Street Trucks is the best truck mag out there. I am calling on monday to cancel Sport Truck and Boat in', I mean Truckin'.

Thanks for all of the kind words guys. We do put some early truck stuff in the magazine (in fact we just featured a Diamond-T a few issues ago). I am also of the mindset that 53-56 F-100s and 67-72 Chevys get too much play in the classic truck magazines. We've done some tech on the earlier stuff (40 Ford and the such and have featured some trucks from the 30s) but really haven't hit it too hard. I was considering shooting the build-up of my 28 RPU but I don't know if too many of our readers would be into it...

It seems trivial but I know that thereare tons of potential readers that never buy the mag because it caters to the before mentioned groups. I know ya hafta sell advertising etc but I can think of 4-5 trucks within a stones throw that would be great coverage material. Tech stuff would be even better.

Why would you call and cancel them? You already paid for them. Cancelling them doesn't prove anything. They already have your money. Are they so bad that you can't stand even having them delivered to your house?

Just don't renew them next time they expire.

It's REALLY hard for magazines to do much "out of the box" that they are stuck with. Would you expect to find stories on restoring an MG in Street Rodder? Or Tax suggestions in CK Deluxe?
When I was at Sport Truck it was a total battle to get the '67-'72 material in what was know as a "late-eighties & up GM truck" magazine. Eventually it went back to that format after we left and I know that the '67-'72 stuff I wrote didn't make it to the core of '67-'72 fans because they weren't looking for it there.
Yeah, that wasn't really an answer but don't expect magazines to stray much from thier "formulas". Which is advertiser based.

Unfortunately many of the pre-war trucks get lost because the “street rod” mags feel that most of the tech crosses over and the “classic truck” mags are geared towards post-war trucks. Classic Trucks magazine will feature some of the earlier trucks but doing tech stories on them has been out of bounds by management. As far as tech stories on the trucks we do cover, we’re always looking for guys that are in the SoCal area that are doing stuff or guys that can shoot some photos that we can use that aren’t easy to get to. IMO...... Classic Trucks is better than Custom Classic Trucks.

The same reason there are to many Mid-Fifty Ford and late 60 early 70 Chevy stories is cause they are the most popular. Street rod mags have been out alot longer but most still have late 20 and early 30 Ford stories in them. Why.......most popular.

Not saying thats great just the fax.

Previously owned but never in the mags 50 Chevy Sedan delivery,61 Econoline PU, now an owner of 55 Ford PU and 54 Ford panel..... ( I'm sick of them being the only things in the mags and I own 2 of them)
