It seems that these people(auto stores) have no problem w/ selling crap....any other caddy (429) hambers find a good place to get a GOOD stater? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

I pay the extra few bucks for the lifetime deal. Keep all the paperwork. I have several Fords that use the same stuff............OLDBEET

Maybe an aftermarket starter like Powermaster? I've run one on my ride for a few years, and no one problem.
The lifetime thing is a good idea too, especially if you like changing starters! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Have Bradley's downtown rebuild it. Old man Bradley will do a better job than what you can buy rebuilt in stores...

caddyman, are other things causing the starter to go bad? Does the engine fire off or do you have to crank a lot b4 it starts? Do you hold the starter on more than 10 seconds at a time?
