Hey... I never had a car when I was a kid. I read hand-me-down Hot Rod magazines, but could only wish. Was raised on a dirt farm and had to work. Quit farming when I was 18 and joined the Air Force to get the hell away from my roots. Never been back. Built and drove a dirt track stock car before I owned a car for mere transportation. Got married and then it was necessary to get a street machine, a '52 Willys Aerostar, not a hot rod.....just transportation to drive her and the kids around. That was a long, long, long, long time ago. About 8 years ago I restored a '31 Chevy to original condition. see on my son's website at http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/...5552/index.html
After it was done, too late, I determined that I wasn't that hot about simple restoration, I should have 'Rodded the thing so I could design and modify to my whim. So, I got my present project and began. Now, fourty some years later, I finally have my hot rod. I built it from a derelict '29 chevy sedan, cut the body up and converted it to a pickup truck. (converted isn't exactly the correct term, but can't think of another, unless it's 'built'?) Always did want to build a pickup truck to my specifications. My truck is a nice truck, but there are times when function overrides purty. Function should always override purty. Now, my truck is built, I need another project. I've decided to wait, watch, wonder, at new ideas, and when one comes along I'm going to see if it will do a better job on my truck than the one I presently have. So far, after a year of studying, I haven't seen anything that is practical or necessary to change... That's how much I like the way I did it. b29chevy250
