I need a Dash for a 28/29 sedan. Found something on ebay but do not know what year it is. Once i know what it looks like I can keep and eye out at the swaps or ebay for one.. Is there a difference between the 28-31 modesl

if someone comes over with a camera i can get a shot of one this weekend, and yes there is a difference froam the 28-29 dash rail to the 30-31 dash rail. ill try to get a shot of one. the one on e-pay is a 30-31, a 28-29 looks about the same shape but doesnt have the reseses in the front of the panel, its more smooth

If your missing the dash, why don't you put one from something else in it? The stranger the better! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The ebay dash is a '30 / '31, this is what's in my coupe. The '28 / '29 dash is smooth, with a small "bump" in the middle above the fuel gauge. There are six screw holes, two on each side and two towards the middle. The '28 / '29 Fordoors had a similar dash, but without the mounting holes.

Hi Boones! Just went down and checked the dash in my '28 sedan and it's exactly as FORDY 6 described the early ones. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Regards, Dave.

Thanks Guys for helping me ID that dash rail...
Samiyam I posted a link, must not have worked..

I have thought about doing another dash but If i find a fatory dash rail cheap I will grab it as it will be cheaper then buying a 32-40 dash.

Buddy has a chrome 40 dash I would love to be able to drop in since I am going with a 60's look but I think it would have to be narrowed and that would screw up the chrome.

You're welcome Boones! If you are going to use the stock dash panel piece, Brattons makes add-on pieces that fit either below the dash panel or to the steering column to put in 2 more gauges. Oh, and by the way, their catalogue totally ROCKS! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Filled with diagrams and a ton of helpful hints! Plus it's FREE - even to Canucks like me! You can order it through their website @ www.brattons.com. AV8 Dave, I want the Dash rail so i can either fab a new lower section or buy a 32 style lower section from someone like Brooksville (I think you have to use your own dash rail for there set up?)
