View Full Version : A 27T question
Looking at Von Franco's 27T (the copy of Andereggs car that was in Rodders Journal) is there much difference in a coupe thats had the roof cut off and a real roadster in teerms of appearance?
thanks

Yeah, the coupe has the 28-29 A-pillar relief just like the Model A. Roadsters don't have that.

Ant, the 26-27 roadster cowl is basically flat on top and as El Caballo stated has no reveal(carriage line). In the rear the deck on a roadster makes a smooth transition as it turns up to the body line that surrounds the passenger compartment. On the coupes that I have seen converted to roadsters, the cowl turned up sharply 2 or 3 inches at the windshield and at the rear deck to meet the reveal where they were cut off. The doors were noticeably taller also. But, they still looked good. Sam
Thanks guys, I was trying to work out if the roadsters looked as good as the converted coupes, which I love.
good info once again.

heres mine...well was mine...its in the process of rebirth hell spawn...gawd damn theres alot of talk of t's nowadays. the line where the "tub" section and the declid is way different...and the cowl..they can still turn out good...dont let mine fool ya! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
also i cut mine because i got a super deal on the body...my top was so rough and rotted...and i didnt have doors so it evolved into a roadster.

I think as a bonus if you cut the top off a coupe you get more interior room than a roadster. That could help some of the tall guys.
Dig your T Kartbreaker. I'm 6'2" so any extra room would be a bomus http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
