I've seen one like it advertised in a magazine. Either the gazette or R&C. I don't recall the price.
I'd like to get one raw and paint it myself. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

You can buy those direct from Van Chase studios. There right here in Wichita, Ks. http://www.ratfink.org/vanchase/index.html Their website doesn't look like it's been updated lately. I couldn't find that particular knob and know they have other new designs that aren't on there yet. I have seen those firsthand, they are REAL cool. I had one of their older designs in my old green Dodge. Still got it today, it sits on my toolbox. And yes, they are available raw (they're even cheaper that way) so you can paint them yourself.

I don't know if Dan (the seller) is on here, but I know I could have bought that exact knob at the swap meet for a quarter the price. He had a Von Dutch knife once I wanted real bad, but at $5000, it was outa my budget. It was cool to hold it for a while though http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My brother-in-law has one of those in his 26 T-coupe, and another in his 37 Ford pickup...he had the guy custom paint 'em to match his cars. Kinda cute...but I'd contact the seller...you should be able to get one cheaper than THAT!

Not my cup o' tea...but they ARE well done and nicely detailed.

Von Chase does Nice stuff, I heard they started out making Tap Handles for the beer companies? Used to be Kingfish studios. They do sell the raw versions so you can paint em yourself. They're the one's who cast McPhails knobs.....

I must admit the dragster guy is cool.

Just a thought here, anyone else notice that the crappier a car is the more deluxe their shift knob is?
ie. mooneyes show, Paso, Vegas, etc?

I've been thinking about using a dummy grenade I have as a shift knob, but I don't know that it really fits the rest of the look of the car, which is pretty gennie, just slammed.

Not always. I have a crappy shifter knob AND a crappy car.

That's a kick ass knob..wouldn't go too good with the Slob. Then I'd be following the above rule.

$315 for that shift knob? It better be molded from "Le merde d'Elvis" and fused with DNA extracted from Don Garlits' heel, or else SOMEONE is gonna be awfully unhappy when they find the $65 version online.....

I looked at the bid history.....anyone ever think to look at that? I know one certain individual who logs in under a different account and bids on her own items increment by increment until she is just one increment over what the high bid was...usually, the person comes back and bids once more.....
