Roadster Weather? Brrrr....

Here is a picture of my Dad and one of his buddy's on Wednesday. The bank sign said "29 degrees" at 3pm. The story behind my dad driving the roadster P/U in the middle of winter is that a friend and Flathead GURU passed away this past week and his funeral was on Wednesday. He was like a "Vern Tardell" to my dad and I on flatheads. He used to race at the Jalopy races in the Kansas City area back in the 50's in a 33' and 34' jalopy coupe's and the are still around in the backwoods of Kansas.

Sorry to hear of your Dad's friend passing.

But, didn't you dad drive that thing from Ohio or someplace when he bought it in the cold and rain?
Seem to recall it was about a year ago, maybe in February?

That's a tough reason to have to go for a winter cruise, sorry to hear it.

I like winter cruises better than summer. You're the only guy out there, and if it's cold enough the car stays clean.

Raccoon coats make the best heaters, although my dad says his buffalo coat is warmer.

I think the toughest think to manage is the head gear, there's nothing like the "slurpee headache" you get from the wind coming over the windshield whe your toque is too thin.

Chris, your dad is a real stand up guy and a realdeal hotrodder. driving the rpu was a fitting tribute to someone all of you abviously had a great deal of respect for.

I hope you and your family have a great new year and hopefully we will run into each other somewhere this summer.
