I just joined this forum from a google search(55 Chevy parts), I usually dwell on the Motor Trend forum, but I just bought a 55 Chevy wagon for myself on my 50th birthday. It's the second car I bought this year, I also bought a screaming yellow 05 Mustang GT about 2 months ago...
I paid $800 for a completely, stock 55 Chevy wagon and got it running with just a piece of fuel line! It's got the usual mid-west cancer, and I don't think that it has a really good piece of glass in it but it's a good jumping off point. It's got the original 265 2 barrel sbc on a Powerglide. It needs a tranny rebuild and some exhaust, to start with and I really need to swap out the front fenders.... It's probably going to end up a rat rod.....
My new GT is a blast to drive, but I felt the need to get some grease under my fingernails...again!
