Yup! I just got home from the wilds of Iowa, where I drove through zero degree weather to go pay for my latest [and only active] project....a one-owner 41 Pontiac el-cheapo business coupe. The deal is finished! Photo-choppers, have fun. Slam, chop, install whitewalls or chromies...whatEVER! Been awhile since I hadda decent, rust-free, complete, running car....[with a legitimate title] I gotta get the brakes back up and I can drive this sucker home!!!! I'm completely jazzed..........

Mexican chrome due to the original chrome goin bad, I imagine. It's not a war-car and I found out all 41 Pontiacs, even the el-cheapo's had chrome grilles and bumpers....It'll get chevy bumpers and I'll prolly paint the grille body color 'till I win the lottery...

I'll keep the original flathead 6 for awhile anyway.It may get a homemade header/tubular intake setup. 455/4 speed later on is not outa the question.

Rocky, my first car was a 41 Pontiac Silverstreak with the 6 cyl.
You are right, the 41's did have chrome grilles, and the wide chrome strip in the center of the hood. the Silferstreak had a wide chrome strip down the trunk lid.

I dunno, I'm in agreement with the T-dude. Right now, that car is oogly! It's gonna be pretty but it'll take a bit of time and work. The silver painted grille and bumpers are too much for me. They're ugly and will be delt with harshly and quickly....
And the God-awful ride height! I'll need bottled oxygen in the car with me at that altitude. It needs a thorough cleaning and spiffing too. I refuse to be seen in it until these issues are resolved. The wheels and tires are an emergency too....no skinny, tall weatherchecked bias plys for me, thank you'se. I'd like to install a set of 15X7's with appropriate bigs and littles with the original pontiac center caps after a thorough slamming.....and the cracked/scuffed side glass will be resolved immediately, if not sooner.
