Hi HAMBers. Just wanted to introduce myself as i get a feel for the lay of the land. Mostly new to the scene as well as the forum. i've got 63 buick project ongoing. little newer than most of the rides on here, but its what i got. also got an old harley; that's my main ride. anyway, thanks for the great forum. josh

its a 63 lesabre 2 dr ht. it was originally a 2bbl lower compression motor, but at some point before i got it was bored .030 over and had higher compression pistons installed. i just got done with a complete overhaul of the motor, and thanks to some bone yard searching, got a 4bbl intake and an exhaust manifold (to relpace a cracked one).

here's a pic of it from when i first got it about a year ago. its a little browner lately thanks to the last bunch of months sitting outside my buddy's shop and a crappy kmart tarp that wasn't worth a damn. but that's all good. under the hood looks nice. i plan on getting some new paint and some scallops on there in due time.

was thinking about air bags, but don't have the cash right now. i don't think cutting the springs is an option either. kinda unfamilure territory for me. any suggestions/pointers/help on this? how's heating work? can ya get them even? josh

ya .. air bags are the way to go .. and id like to do the same ..but i know what you mean on the cash side of town ....and being that i had to have the car lowered without waiting .. i heated my coils .. its not the best way to lower a car but it cant hurt .. ive done it to a bunch of my cars ....
it helps if you have a rack .. to drive the car on to .. you just heat the coil until it starts to shrink .. then measure and move on .. remeber it will probably settle too .. usually you can find a old school muffler shop and they will do it for you too.. my car actually rides pretty smooth .. some cars get bouncy ..being such a long car mine drags thru driveways but it cant hurt anything

i think i'm ok for now. last sat i drove a few hours north to a yard just to get a replacement exhaust manifold. should have all that together and hitting the road again tomorrow. thanks for the offer though.
