It,s a Russian VOLGA built between 1950 and 1970. Bought it
2 years ago for the big aluminium 4 cyl, the axles and
brakes which have the old Ford bolt pattern. Figured one
day it would all go into a plastic 27 T body that has taken
up space for 2 years as well .Just to be different and super low budget. Nothing,s happened yet.

Growing up in East Germany, I drove Volgas before the wall came down. Not too bad back then. They are something like '53 Ford with that domed speedo. Now, the secret is out. Cheap 15" wheels and open drive rearends (but with out emergency break, which in this case is behind the transmission like on '50s Dodges and Plys) for europeans. Tell you what, the clutch throw out bearing fits Ford V8 perfect, fuel pump (needs the V8 lever) has a handy outside lever to pre pump. Oilfilter canister is also interesting.
BTW, I know a few Volga with 350 or alu Buick engines around here and one that has been customized Ranchero style.

The good looking one must have been one hell of a job as
the VOLGA only came out as a 4 door and a stationwagon.
Even when they were new the panels did,nt fit or line up.

Since you are talking about Russian wheels and bolt patterns...
Does anybody know the specs on a Lada Niva wheel?
I think its 5 bolt and 16".

Can,t help you with the LADA info but another piece of info
is that the tiny SUZUKI jeeps from the late 70s early 80s
have 16inch wheels with an early ford bolt pattern as well.
Only problem is these small jeeps are pretty hard to find
and the mud racers don,t want to part with their old rims.
