In '78 my friend and I built one similar to the one posted except for the two verticle end pieces.

We placed a larger square tube over smaller square tube and welded old style Bumper Jacks on each end..., this allowed us to attatch the rotisory to the car ..., jack it up..., remove the wheels and suspension! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The bumper jacks allowed us to safely raise the car high enough to rotate and access all of the under carriage. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
