Sorry for the bad quality of the pics... I don't have a digital camera, so I did the following... I took my half digital HI8 video cam, took some film... Imported it into the computer, and cut a few frames in Adobe premiere... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Let me know what you think of the bike... Any cool ideas, suggestions, etc. are more than welcome!!

Looks good very good. Is that a Paugcho rigid? Danny

It's a 1970 Triumph Bonneville frame...
I got the rigid rear from Wes White at Four Aces Cycle Supply... I think it doesn't have a brand at all...

I like the Minimalist approach.
The small tank works well with the narrow rear tire,
and the Sportster graphic will have the Posers scratching their heads. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hah! The hardtail with the Marzocchi... It's a DMR (with 24" wheels) dual slalom bike with which I rip up as many trails as possible.... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The sportster graphic will be removed... (would be cool to annoy the posers though, haha!)
I have a couple ideas for the tank color... But I don't know which one to choose... Something with a lot of flattener in it I think... Any suggestions from you guys..???

That is killer. Did anyone see the bike build-off with Indian Larry last night? He did an Ed Roth tribute bike, gold flake frame/tank/fenders, old style flames, gold & silver leaf lettering, airbrushed Ratfink...unreal. Really inspirational. I always love the 'flake jobs on the tank, no matter which way yer lookin at it there is a reflection. I vote Green 'flake, white grips & seat. Maybe some double thin stripe tires if you can find em!

Okay, let me answer your questions...

The rear tire size is 16x5.00 (Avon SM MkII)... I'm fighting with some tire/chain clearance right now... But I'll figure it out...

The front end is an early 70's Sportster Narrow Glide...

I found the z-bars on E-bay... They're early 70's NOS... I got 'em in the mail yesterday and was completely stoked.. I put 'em on the bike 5 minutes after the Mailman delivered 'em!!

Green flake is bitchen huh! I have some white Beck grips already... And a NOS Bates sparkle seat, which is gold flaked...
Has anyone seen the green color with flattener on Jimmy Shines dad's '34... That's pretty cool too... But some flake would be killer too... How about flaked scallops..?

Right on!
Killer paint jobs! That scalloped tank gives me some inspiration!

That's the Scott Craig bikes! I saw those two in Paso last May... When I was visiting Hollywood Hot Rods last October, Scott was redoing the Trumpster, because a Taxi had ran into it!
Very nice bikes!

I saw that show a few weeks ago in the UK. That bike was cool! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

that bike is gonna kick ass.
im using a early ford spare tire cover(the one that is ribbed for pleasure) cut in half for a rear fender on my japchopper project. that would look cool on your bike too!

'Flyin' Dutchman'
01-02-2004, 03:09 AM
Yeah! I have one of the ribbed (for pleasure, haha) fenders... I think it's a Bates fender, a chromed one... I don't know if that's gonna look right, but it's also NOS, and in perfect condition. So I'd like to keep the chrome on there...

Lookin' good. You bringing it to Bonneville? I rember "Flinger's" Coupe (Jimmy Shine's dad) as being red back in the early 60's. Wayno

'Flyin' Dutchman'
01-02-2004, 04:11 AM
Yeah, Flinger's coupe was indeed red... It had 3 coats of "roman red" chevy laquer...
This is how they found it lately...

http://photo.starblvd.net/tilly/4-5-2.jpg

I think that's a cool color to match with the gold flaked seat.... But adding some flaked scallops to the green would be even more killer...

do the triumph axles fit in the sporty forks, or do you need to run an hd axle, hub and wheel?

'Flyin' Dutchman'
01-02-2004, 04:24 AM
The front wheel is an aftermarket, 21"... It doesn't fit the Sporty forks at all... I'm making all new spacers.

The rear axle is Triumph, and it fits the in rigid frame perfectly... I only have to move the hub as far as possible to the left, and spoke the wheel over to the right, so I can get clearance for the chain...

Does any one know what's the narrowest chain I can get for a Triumph bike?

Hey Christian,
