I have a 53 chevy with a 54 truck engine, I adjusted the rocker arms today I did it the way the manual said for a 53 car which was to heat up the motor fully which I let it run for a good 20 minutes and then started it and let it fully heat up again, I did the intakes 6 and exhaust 16, they all make a little ticking noise is this the correct way to do these? and this is suppose to ba a brand new rebuilt engine, thanks dave

Sounds correct to me...without checking my book for the correct clearances. If you can hear the ticking it's good...if you can't they are too tight.

The hydraulics are what most people are used to having which muffles out the ticking. A small ticking is OK.
