View Full Version : upholstery and paint shops in so cal?!?
i'm a youngin and new to the kustom/old car world. i need the whole interior done in my car. anyone in the So Cal area familiar with good upolstery shops? i'm would love to have tuck-n-roll. if i can't get that, then something custom but looks 50's style.
i'm also thinking of having my car re-painted. i'd like to have the whole car a solid suede or satin or whatever it's called color. again, anyone familiar with some good paint shops that are good with this type of paint?
thanks a lot for your help.

if you do go to TJ to have work done, make sure you take a token mexican with you. take someone who speaks fluent spanish. i have heard bad stories about having work done down there. my dads buddy took his car down there to have the upholstery done.they did a bitchin job and for cheap, but a few weeks later his car started stinkin. he ripped open his seat and they stuffed the seats full of dirty baby diapers instead of foam!!!!! so be care who and where you take your car to. there are some really good quality shops down there, but there are also some bad ones!!!!!!!

garza's upholstery in la puente ....nice work CHEEEEEEEAP prices ....... and i hear imperial customs in burbank is a good paint shop.....haha
hey lownslow or donnie, i saw a tech article about your shop in Rod N Custom i believe about doing flake roofs. that was cool. would you be willing to re-paint my car? what needs to be painted is the body, roof, firewall, and the inner door panels. i'm done with the red and all satin black is too plain. are you extremely lined up? is there a waiting list or anything like that? about how much would a paint job run me?
thanks a lot.

Armando's in Santee, CA is good or Leo's Mobile Upholstery in North County San Diego...he comes to you takes the seats to his shop and then brings em back and installs them...does carpet onsite...headliner on site...saves alot of hassle taking your car to a shop and fretting about whether or not they have insurance...I know a couple of rod builders use him and he has done two interiors for me...best of all he was done in a week...did a complete on my 63 riviera...all except the headliner which was good for only 1600...I know since he has gotten busy his rates have gone up but still is very reasonable...perfect guy to do a daily driver car
