Is a high volume oil pump still availabe?
Does Mellings have a website?
Will a SBF oil pump work?
Or one from a later 6?
Mine's a 63 144.
Let's keep this thread free of violence and profanity.

I've got a mellings oil pump on my 200 but I think it is stock specs. As far as I know there is no high-volume version available. There is a small book produced by a couple of enthusiasts for these motors called the falcon six cylinder performance handbook. They have done a lot of the homework for us.

i don't think you actually need a H-V pump.if you have a problem with low oil pressure you should fix the cause, not the symptom.

Thanks for the tips.
Not low oil pressure, just lookin ahead to assemblin the current pieces on to the new short block. Want to do it right.
Most people would say "doin' it right" would be to put a 460 in it but I'm fond of the little teeny 6 banger.

460?

Just ask them if they've ever had a little six in an old Ford http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

BTW, that ford performance book is worth the few bucks, just for the info.

a H-V oil pump would only be needed if you had excessive connecting rod and main bearing clearance,if it checks out within specs the stock pump will do.
