Ok I gotta ask. What's the deal with the windshield? Is that a woodie or a convertable W/S grafted into your coupe body? Whatever it is, it sure changes the look. Very subtle. I like subtle. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It's patterned after a convertible. But the peek is slightly exagerated and flows into the cowl and up into the roof slightly. The cowl vent is filled too.
There are a few other subtle body mods too like the door tops are rounded and the trunk corners rounded and the driprail extended.
The door bottooms have been extended to fill the gap between the running board.
I'm glad you like the w/s treatment though http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Very nice Rudy. That's the first time I've seen it.
Very tasteful.

Is the gasket and stainless trim woody or did you fab that too? I probably wouldn't have noticed the lengthened doors but I know what you are refering to. It's a lot of work but you know it's there. Right?

The trim is applyed just like the convertible to the pinchweld. And I used convertible weatherstrip and it too is installed fromthe back and held in place by the garnish moldings like the ragtop...
Hey Rich i'm glad you like it but you really don't have to go on and on about it http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Damn Roadstar...let Rich go on and on, that car turned out awesome! I really like the subtle changes, and that interior shot from the top 10 nominations is great. You pulled off a perfect mix of colors, not bad for some "Gay Bitch" from Michigan. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Beautiful 40! Roadstar, another question, what is the suspension? I'm interested in the ride height. I've got a stock 40 merc that I want to lower and I'm not sure where to start.Drop axle or ?
thanks!

Yeah, you definitely deserve an "ATTABOY" for the 40! I hadn't seen the interior until Denise posted those pics...VERY COOL! I can't wait to check it out, in person, in February. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

So Rudy lets get into the suspension. I thought I knew what you had but since someone else asked give us the lowdown (pun intended). the stance is just about what I'm going for on my wife's '40 deluxe.
The stage is all yours. hahahaha11111

Thanks for the nice comments Barnett, I'll look forward to seeing you in feb.
And Ron you should try and make it up this way too (DBF)
As for the suspension it is a Chassis Enginering front (Mustang II style) with there own very cool adjustable upper spring pockets.
The Rear is also Chassis Engineering paralel leaves with a 57 ford 9 inch posi.(3.55)
