For $200 I got a complete '57 chevy...

Maybe not in "perfect condition" but for $200 pretty damn good...

Been tearing it down and noticed a little issue... how bad is this??? At all? Not too bad? Do I need to do anything to fix?

Thanks for the help.

Well, I have a "yes" and a not a problem...

Clear as mud...

The rest of the frame, body is pretty straight... no signs of any other damage...

No biggie...just a little "character mark" on the front crossmember! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

If it steers straight and there's no cracks...I wouldn't worry about it! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I don't expect much... BUT all-in-all the truck is in descent shape... the frame only has a light coat of surface rust... I guess being caked in dirt is good for something... and the body is completely repairable... and I mean repairable to me not a real craftsman...

Worst rot is usually in the fenders behind the front wheels and the cab corners. Another bad spot is the front corners at the cab mounts. Once the cab corners are fixed, fill them with foam because they ALWAYS plug up the drainage holes and rot out.

Good Score! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Hacks right, don't worry about the crossmember. If you wanna repair it a jack, big hammer & maybe a torch should make it go away. No big deal.

Ah that's junk. Just to show you what a nice guy I am I'll give you your money back on it, then you won't have to worry about fixing that bent crossmember.

Seriously though, that's a great deal for three times that coin. All the body pieces you should need are available from a whole bunch of vendors. LMC, Harmon's, and Golden State are all really decent places for parts and small stuff.
The 55-9's clean up not too bad.....

swap it over to the PT frame http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thats not bad - i have seen worse on old jeeps and they stood up to serious beatings in the swamps

You gonna put a flathead in that? It looks like it's got potential...and you've got plenty of help up there.

And I KNOW you can't be old enough to remember Skull Skates, much less the DKs. What are ya, 15?
