I'm going to use an internal regulated 3 wire GM alternator on my T (I already have 2 of them in my "pile"). Tell me if I have this correct please. Looking from the backside of the alternator, the large terminal goes to my main power junction block. The left small terminal is wired through a "idiot" light to my ignition switch and the light will provide enough resistance to keep the engine from running on when I turn the switch off, but will kick in the alternator??? The right small terminal can be jumpered to the large terminal or go to a battery "hot" terminal???
I hope I haven't made a fool of myself, but the diagrams I've found on the 'net haven't been clear enough for my old brain to know for sure. Please post a diagram, or link to one, if you have one.
Thanks in advance for helping the electrically challenged.
