I’m going to Maracaibo Venezuela for Christmas. This place is sort of like Cuba, it has a socialist dickhead dictator and tons of old cars still on the streets. I plan on drinking lots of rum and smoking Cuban cigars. When I am not doing that, I will be sightseeing with my digital camera and I will try and scout out some of my old haunts that had old cars in them. I will do okay on the exchange rate as we have already notified our black market contact there that gringo dinero is on the way. Ten years ago I brought back about $25.00 worth of Boliveres which is the Venezuelan currency, today it is worth $0.25, no lie. The country is just getting over a general strike and some riots. I will be staying a week with the in-laws and yes, I’m going to notify the embassy I am there, just in case the ceviche hits the fan and revolution breaks out. I'll be back on the new year.

Sheeit, anyone can go to Cuba. They won't stamp your U.S. passport. Just go through Jamaica or Mexico, pretty much have to anyway.

Yeah, but the U.S. wont help you if something happens to you overthere.
That's why i'm glad there's family in Cuba... We could go from florida with no problem. And the U.S. knows we're there in case theres trouble. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
