Not a bad start, Dale. Needs filling out a bit though. A picture of your car could certainly help as well.
If some of the local rednecks start tearing you a new ass 'cos you've got a VW..ignore 'em. They had to start somewhere as well, only most of them are too old to remember what they started with.

And they didn't have to start in England either...

yes some have but thats a bit expensive route to go alot of people just extend the wheelbase by around 10"with a standard beetle beam,sorry no pics i havent done much but what i have done it want let me post the pics,but follow the link below to the volksrods website it tells you all about my project,and just have a look around there might be somthing you like lol.

well i suppose i had better show some pics of my project now.

so its a 68 body on a 72 chassis,roofs been chopped about 7 inches,its got suice doors,all the fenders and aprons have been cut off.it has a custom dash and flowing door panels.

its going to have a 1776 engine in it.the wheelbase has been extended 10".

this is all going to be my first car when im 17.
