Saw this piece on Charlie Price's website. Kinda neat idea 4 barell adapter to a 2 Duece setup for any 4 barell application. Neat stuff but I learned my lesson last time I am sticking with a 4 barell on my T-Bird but I thought some of you may be interested.

I was going to try and make one of those, but I never got around to it. Offy used to make them to, I think. It'd look great on a 2x4 intake.

what would be really crazy is one of those x-ram style 2x4 intakes with 2 of these on top.
What kind of $$$ are we talking?

Butt,
The one on larry's truck is cool. I talked to him about it at York last year when the truck first came out.
I think he's running two rochesters if i'm not mistaken.
His is a home brew too, Clark bent the tubes and larry did the rest if i remember correctly..
Rat.
Charlie's version there seems to have a few more bolt holes in it than the others I've seen
Looks like it may fit not only the early and late four barrel manifolds but it looks like you may be able to mount it sideways on the manifold too.
I like the look of four two barrels in line but four in a square pattern is pretty hot too.
cool.

I believe 97 Heaven does these too.
Having made an adapter to run 4x 2 barrels on a 2X4 intake, I'm now just in the proces of making one of the twin carb adapters to possibly trade later on as I don't actually need it. It would be suitable to put on something like a Rover V8 (popular in the UK) to make it look more "old-timey".

Price is selling them for $89 I believe. He also said on his site that he can drill it for any specific application you request.
I have no affiliation with him I was just glancing his website like we all do every so often and saw this "new item"

im not familiar with multicarb setups (though I wish I was!). If you put 2 two barrels onto it, what kinda linkage would need to be made between the carbs? Does it just run on one deuce and then the other opens up when you stomp on it? School me.

my buddy runs a cross ram with two 4s on a VERY healthy big block Chevy. he has both carbs hooked with cable linkage to the gas pedal so that both carbs work the same all the time. NO progressive or anything like that. need ALOT of motor to do that though. i don't think a cross ram would work too swell with only one carb working most of the time. they are ment to run both carbs all the time so you could do the same with the 4 2s if you adapted a cross ram. the same buddy ran a cross ram with 2 4s on a healthy 400 small block and it was still way too much carb for it. multi carbs look WAY cool but they have their down side in comprimised drivability.

Its on the cover of CKD #8.........Shiny
Other than for looks, why would a person take off a 750 cfm 4 barrel (that's what a Qjet is) and put on two leakers that only total 300 cfm together?

Almquist also made these adapters back in the 50's and 60's. They do pretty well on ebay.

I agree with ya Dr.J.
Modern day 4 barrell carbs are hard to beat.
However, the old 4 barrells on the eary 50's
Hemi's, Olds, Caddys, and Buicks didn't give
the hotrodder much hop-up room.
These adapters were offered from Weiand, and Offenhauser
to replace those single and dual four factory setups
with stromberg 97"s to gain more flexibility in tuning,
jet changes etc.
Just what the low budject hotrodder needed.
These new repos look pretty good too.

If two 97's are only 300 cfm are 94's the same cfm or are they smaller cause I have a few laying around here I wanted to use on something and I also have a 2x4 chevy intake manifold. So If I used 4 then they would be 600 cfm correct? That wouldn't be to much for my motor in my 54. That would be pretty cool looking.
