Mid Winter Reliability Run 2004 - east coast style!

Ok east coasters its that time again.. Let's show those west coast boys we don't need no stinking warm weather.

The date is set for January 10, 2004 the destination is POSIES Rods and Customs in Hummelstown, PA. Plan your route to arrive around 9am.

Here's the lowdown: for those who are new to the HAMB
Each year posies has an "open house" where they show off their latest projects.. Granted most of us aren't into all that billet street rod stuff but.. What else is there to do on a Saturday in January in Pennsylvania?

The plan: we all meet up at posies, hang out and check out their stuff,last year after posies tour, we headed to Terry's rod shop a few miles away (maybe we can do that again? TERRANCE??) At any rate, we'll end our Run with lunch at the Soda Jerk (a retro style diner, near
terrys).

I will meet up with anybody from the philly region who'd like to run together. (we got some great photos of cars running down the road together last year)

I will MOST LIKELY be bringing the 40 this year..(if I get a few details ironed out) So if anyone from philly wants a really long cold ride speak up!

41Sled- it's just a coupla hours from Jersey. Go to Mapquest.com and get milage and driving time. It should put you in the ballpark. I'll be rolling in from either I-80 or 440/287 depending on possible passengers. Think about it and let me know if you want to follow.

Last year the C-Dan never got above 120 degrees. I had no heater or radio but it was still a fun trip. It was only 10 degrees in the morning..these guys exagerate, It got up to a blistering 34 by the time we left for home again!

The very best part of the day was watching Clark pull up in the RPU eating an ice cream cone. Everyone was talking about it all day. Guess this year there will be a "For Sale" sign on the car.. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif..

At any rate, I'm in. May have to bum a ride though. All the wiring is out of the Coupe and I'm too broke to fix it!

The weather has been up into the high to mis 50's so its not all that bad out. I drive the Hell outta my coupe when I can. I just hate road salt. Last year it was cold. One of the worst winters I've ever seen. Hopefully this nice weather will carry into next week...

zman- I ran thru the snow and sleet yesterday, about 30 miles south of Roanoke Va on I-81. Everyone was doing fine except the broad in the SUV... (insert your own ending here). Bad weather ain't nothing to drive IN. but bad drivers are hell to drive WITH. I was inches away from having to search Rocky's classifieds for some Pontiac parts.

Damn. Just went out to the garage tonight to fire up the beast and gas up. Turned her over and looked out over the motor..the fan isn't moving. Shit. I totally forgot that the last time I fixed my radiator, I had put in a water mix (Mostly water..) and now everything was frozen solid. Its about 9 degrees outside with a windchill factor to boot. I hate to say it, but looks like its a late model Saturn for me.. This sucks balls.
