I was sitting here planning out my weekends worth of building on the 29 Tudor, and was wondering if the 40 brake drums for the front and rear are interchangable. I believe the backing plates are not, but how about the drums? And if they are, how about for the 39 wide fives? I am going back and forth as to which to use, the wide fives or the 40's. Like trying to decide between a red head or a brunette, both work well and look good, but are completly different personalities. Any help with this decision would be great!

By the way here is my new logo that Billetproof-Dude did for me. Waht do ya think - Anyone interested in tees shirts if I print em up?

I'll take a XXL shirt and go for the wide 5's. Mike

You can use backing plates front or rear, just one set has e-brake hole.Drums you cant.Use rear backing plates up front with the wide fives. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I can't live much longer without a T-shirt..XL
I like the looks of the wide 5 wheels with 39 Juice brakes but I like the practicality of a 5 on 5.5" bolt pattern, {sigh} depends on my mood, which one I'd rather have. And, I still wonder if the VW wheel will fit the ford front drum for some super-skinnys.

"And, I still wonder if the VW wheel will fit the ford front drum for some super-skinnys."

No, not even close. It becomes obvious when they are side by side. The Ford bolt pattern is 10" or so, and the VW is just over 8". you can use the VW rimes on the Ford centers without too much work.
