For sale is a collection of pieces that could be assembled to make a decent hot rod project out of.
These are some items I picked up a few years ago and was going to build into something but ended up with another project instead. Now it's time for me to stop hoarding old tin and pass these along to someone else that might actually do something with them.
The cowl shown is from approximately a 1925-1927 Chevrolet. It has the very cool 'sunburst' design on the firewall. It's pretty unique and would look killer on a hot rod.
The doors were purchased off of Ebay. The seller didn't know exactly what they were off but from what I could see they looked like a pretty close match. The trim line is pretty lined up with the one on the cowl- they may actually be correct for this car. These were originally some sedan doors that have been cut down to make roadster-type doors out of. I do also have the tops from these doors. The doors are in very solid shape.
The back panel is a complete mystery piece. If I had to guess I would say it was probably from some 20's touring-type car or 4 door of some type. I bought it figuring I might use it some day for something. When combined with these other items it could make for a neat little 'modified' project.
As you can see in the photos these items are not assembled in any fashion and are just propped together for these photos.
I do also have another exact cowl that is in pretty simillar condition but with a little nicer firewall although maybe a little rougher in some other areas. For the $350 I would let the buyer pick. Or I would include the other cowl for an extra $50.
These early Chevrolet parts don't come along very often. Most of these bodies fell apart and rusted away after the wooded sub-structures rotted out. You don't get a chance to build an early Chevrolet that often.
This would easily fit in the back of even a small pickup or mini-van. Come and get it! You could put this together over the winter and make Back To The 50's next summer!
PM me if interested.
Thanks, Jay
