I know this really isnt a big deal. But i felt like posting some pictures up of what i did after work...
I started cleaning the trunk of MY 48 chevy.. Its been laying out side with out a decklid for about 10 years and it was a Mess... Took me about a hour and half to clean off the excess shit with the smell of a dead carcus.. Yep, thats right, I found a dead Squirrel or Racoon (cant really tell http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif) it muss of been laying under some of shit for the winter and it died... Oh well,, heres a pic of what i acomplished ...
The floor is suprisingly almost Perfect for being out side rusting... only one little swiss cheese whole about the size of a penny or dime...Damn chevys Rule!
This is just but the first step in the journey of one thousand miles, Grasshopper. You'll enjoy some and you won't enjoy others. Just remember, this is supposed to be fun.

Ya know, I can't help seeing a nasty Chevy version of the old Ramchargers Plymouth brewing there!
Leave the rear fenders off, find a decklid, stuff in a 348 motor with a crude, home-made tunnel ram, fenderwell style headers, straight axle under the front, 57 Olds rear, slicks out back, skinnies up front, set a hood on it (with a crude scoop) and run headlights on stands next to the radiator, Moon tank up front, four point roll bar and one seat inside a gutted interior, four speed, home-made ladder bars, drag chute and rear push bar, colored Lexan windows, and covered in red oxide primer.
Low buck, nasty, home-grown early gasser!
Hell, it's already GUTTED...just add what ya need to haul ass and tear it up!

Sounds cool, but I want it looooww... Everything else sounds about right... What ever i can get cheep or free (meaning engine or tranny) is going on this bitch... as for the fenders... If i cant beat the dents back,,, their going to be left off for a LONG time.. Hehehe...
Allready made a drive shaft tunnel (a mistake for the ford but it fits) and found a drag car trans tunnel laying in my attic (dont know where its from?)
Dont know what im going to do for suspension wise... I have a factory Mustang 2 laying in the weeds, but the cross member is f*cked.. right now it has leaf springs, but their ruined so ill have to get new ones or use some old coils i found.. Air bags are totaly out of the question..
I really want it low , like "eyeball"s ride.. Any one know what set up he was running.. His site is down ..

It's from a bit before my time...but it left an impression the first time I saw pictures of it!
I want a street version someday myself!!! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
(My Dad remembers seeing it at Detroit Dragway and described it to me in great detail when I was a little gearhead...there were other greats, but that first "Ramchargers" car was the NASTIEST!!!)

Eyeball's has bags. On mine I am planning on doing something like this. The pic is a kit for 55/57 Chevs but I am making my own stuff. I have the front boxes mostly made. I think I am going to use S-10 springs the lowered leaf springs for S-10's are cheap. I think I am going to use a small section of the S-10 frame(the part with the shackle mount/bushing), weld it to the top of the 47 frame, box and weld it all up with steel, then cut out the section of the stock frame. Kinda like the frame notches.
Couple really crappy pics of my car
