Found this on Craigslist this morning. Owner says it ran 20 years ago but is now stuck. What do you think? Was on an irrigation well it hole life and ran on propane.

Theres one in the rear of an old truck being built and theres a thread, or info somewhere here. Have you done a search, because i remember reading several posts about the truck.
Also, Elvis from "RodBods" in Australia has one in a 32 coupe, and you can find several u tube vids of it.
Id do a search for you, but im sposed to be working. lol.

Try some Marvel Mystery Oil and Sloans Linament in the cylinders for awhile. It should be in good shape if it had run on propane, as long as the bootom end is okay. Good luck>

Heavier than hell ,in trucks about 2MPG loaded and not much better empty. Make a hell of a mailbox stand.

Fit that in a rod. It would be cool on a stretched chassis.

Lots of variants of this motor, sixes and twelves. Prolly a bit heavy for a car...
    702- 1485 pounds! 275 hp @ 2400 rpm, 630 ft/lb @ 1600- 1900 rpm.

That is one big SOB, I have worked on a few natural gas pump engines over the years, propane should be much the same as far as wear goes. In my experience the gas engines run very clean, the crankcase should be pretty clean, and the cylinders wear well. The valves will tend to recess even with hardened seats, and this engine will probably have run the equivalent of hundreds of thousands or millions of miles as we would often run these things for 3 or 4 (or more) months non stop year after year.

That engine will be thirsty, I had a 67 1 ton truck with a similar 305 V-6 that struggled to get 5 mpg....

Very specific bell housing for them. It's a clamshell housing specific to gmc sixes and twelves, should be able to find one, though
