I am pretty sure I know the answer to tis one, put I'm gonna ask. I have a set of older SW guages that I would LOVE to run in my new dash. They were donated to me by an old friend and were out of his old rod. Problem is i have an Getrag transmission in my truck. It has an electrical sending unit in it. I don't think I can remove the pulse gen. wheel from the main shaft, and install a drive gear. Anybody have any ideas? Keith

Cable X makes a converter box for around $350.

  3. $350. BUCKS!?!?

Man the price of cool is really getting out of sight.

  4. The other option is to go trad. Gee what a concept.

I answered this before on another thread about the same problem. Go to the wrecking yard and get the speedo drive from a '73 olds omega it drives off the front hub. problem solved.

Sure dropping a traditional trans would be awesome, however last time I looked they were not cheap. I have this Getrag 5 speed sitting here, with a new clutch, master and slave. It fits my frame and my wallet. Wow I bet you guys would have got your panties in a real knot if I had said I was putting in a slush box!!!

On the the Old's Omega speedo drive. Something like that might be an option. However I am perplexed on how it hooks up. any photos? I'm off to search google to see what I can find. Keith

  7. Its just like ths speedo drive on a '70s harley or a bicycle, only made for a car. It hangs on the spindle and hooks to the hub, when the wheel spins it rotates the cable.
