The shift lever in my '35 pickup was cut down and rewelded at some time in it's long life. My truck has a stock '35 3 speed top loader in it. Are all the '32-'39 Ford 3 speed shift levers interchangable? Can I just replace the lever w/o replacing the top plate & shift arms? On my '46 HD four speed I was able to remove the lever w/o removing the tranny top plate.

I don't know if they all interchange, but if they do, there are two shifters w/ top plates listed on eBay under eBay Motors: Automotive Parts: Rat Rods.

Yeah I think they are all the same.

Pretty sure they are the same. Just unscrew the round cap on top and pull it out. I have several don't remember any difference.

For HAMBER reference: 1932-35 shifter tops have a casting that is slanted back. The shift lever for these measures 4 1/8 inches from the flat on top of pivot ball to bottom end. The 1936-39-'52 pickup lever used on tops with vertical towers (68 and 81A numbers) measures 4 7/8" down there. Not interchangeable nohow. There are several different shaped levers for each style.
