Get soe of that hypo-alergenic non-toxic body paint and practice on your girl...that's what she got it for anyway!
Then post the pictures?...! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I saw that "Like Krazy" piece at the PnP show. He didn't have the Like Crazy on there yet. It had a post-it note saying that he would customize the center with anything you wanted. I do like the "Like Krazy"
Cool stuff! Thanks for postin' it!

Nice piece Curt! I grew up in Essex, so "Little" Pat's Dad was one of my local heros......."Wacky Mac" used to tune his Pro Stock Camaro running up and down Orems Rd......
Here's what I've done with Johnny Ace's "Skate Fink" (shitty photo.I was still in pain.... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif)

Close up...Note: The truck isn't bent, my arm was, the yellow lettering isn't messed up, it was still bleeding and it's not bruised under his tail, it's shading. Guy did a great job I think? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Skate Fink - Orems Road is still used for all kinds of shake downs...and "Big" Pat is STILL a local hero! When I first knew him about 8 years ago he spent 5 hours (up until 2:30 am) the night before Thanksgiving helping me rebuild the 3-speed for my nailhead so that I could make it down to Florida with them the next day for the Turkey Run. Hell of a nice guy...and HELL of a mechanic. You should stop down to the party at Sylvester's and say hey (that's his and Little Pat's bar).
And the skate fink looks great!

i`ve got to put my hands up here and publically admit i`ve never really `got` the idea of pinstriping...i`ve sat and watched weirdo watts for ages at shows and been totally impressed with how he does it, but thought it kinds looks the same as the next guys (dont slate me for my naivity [sp])but that after seeing that first piece posted by dan i think i`m finally begining to understand...that is f*****g awesome

Great stuff as usual guys. One of these days I'll get my ass in gear and create something post-worthy.
Hey Barnett - The best way to get big pictures with small file size is through a program like Adobe Imageready. You can take a huge Photoshop file or .jpg and whittle it down to almost nothing without losing a whole lot of quality. It gives you a 4-up preview, so you can play with different formats too. Let me know if you need any info or help. I may not know much, but what I do know I'm willing to share http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Here's another one I did at P&P. Not my design...the guy had it tattooed on his arm and wanted it on his trunk. His monkey...my simplified shading. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Barnett, do you have photoshop? if so, in the file menu there's a function called "Save for Web" that allows you to keep good sized (as in hieght and width) pictures that are small (as in file size)...
have a go at that...

KnuckleBuster and Autocol...Thanks! I'm still not positive what I'm doing, but the "Save to web" thing helped! Now I just have to really learn how to use it...I might make it into the last part of the 20th century yet. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

basically, as i understand it the web is configured to send a certain number of colours as hexidecimal code. for example, black is #000000... if my calculations are correct there's about 16 million combinations (and hence colours) possible with 6 characters of hexidecimal code (it's 16 to the power of 6)...
anyway, photoshop works with 32 million colours (how your brain can tell the difference i don't know but apparently it can!) so the files don't work very well over the web. if you look in the colour selector in photoshop there's a little (!) mark that appears in the top right corner somewhere, which means that what you have selected is not a "web" colour.
so basically, save for web does two things. firstly, it takes any of the 16 million available colours that aren't "web friendly" and replaces them with the closest avaialable. secondly, and the effect will depend on how much compression you select in the S-for-W dialogue, it takes two colours that are very similar, and just replaces them with one colour, ie less information. the only time you notice this is if you REALLY compress it, and look at something like the sky, with a gradient of colour that loses its gradient somewhat when photoshop starts "sharing" colour data across multiple pixels.
ANYWAY! the net result is that by using S-for-W, you can post a much larger IMAGE in a much smaller FILE!
it's good shit.
hang on, let me take a photo or two, and i'll post an example. sorry for hijacking the art show!

okay, here's two images i've just taken into photoshop... (you'll notice they're ART, making me only slightly off topic!)...
the first uses save for web, set to low file size (a lot of compression), and is 600 pixels across...
http://users.bigpond.net.au/cfink/Cave-Guy.jpg
that file is 19 kb. small. ryans server would happily accept it.
the following file, of very similar subject matter (greylead pencil on shitty paper!) is only 300 pixels across, yet is saved with very little compression, and is 29 kb...
THIS WANTS TO BE A RED 'X'
from our point of view, the quality is very similar (you can see some compression remnants in the paper of the first one), but the first one is less than half the size file-wise...
EDIT: shit... hang on, the second one won't even post for some reason... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif and i'm trying to look like the expert! typical...

there we go, that seems to have worked, FINALLY!
you can see in that one the remnants from compression. anyway, it's a lot bigger to look at than the other, but the file size is actually about half.
cheers,
