My neighbor decided he didn't really care for the grille treatment on my '53, so he used the bumper on his Pathfinder to "adjust" it. (Wasn't fast enough getting the Gennie into reverse to avoid the makeover!) Needless to say, I "need" another '53 Chevy grille surround--anybody in HAMBland got one? My teef survived, as did the hood, but the surround's now only good for a wall-hanging reminder.

Take your old one off and beat the neighbor with it! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hope he's paying for the replacement!!!

Give Jrussell a PM... I think he has one, might need re-chromed... but he might be willing to part with it...

Sorry about the accident... that sucks.

Yeah, he's cool. He was freakin out more than me. Said he couldn't see the car in his rearview, which I didn't really believe until I saw for myself. Anyway, he said bring him the bill, no worries.

Yet another reason to hate SUVs.

In a Hummer H2 you can't see a Pathfinder, if that's any consolation.

The only consolation I'm looking for is a '53 Chevy grille surround!

RF...I'm thinkin there mite be one in a one of two junkyards north of Denver...I can check, however, it will be a few days (maybe next week) until I do go up there. If, in the meantime, you happen to find one...let me know and I won't look...

From the picture it looks like it could be fixed pretty easy . . . is it worse than it looks ? Or do you just want to not bother with it and slap a new one in there .

Hey Rob, Little D in San Diego is checking to see if he can get one from one of his connections. I should know more by this afternoon.

Aw man that sucks. I had the secretary at work back her RAM truck into my '54 Chevy one day. She didn't say shit, but there was a witness. I have a '55 Desoto grille in mine and she managed to break the center tooth, now those fuckers are hard to find. Luckily I found a complete grille a month later, it even had extra teeth so's I could put two more teeth at the ends. I gave her the bill for $250, she paid it.
I guess you're lucky in that you didn't mold the grille in or anything.
I'll keep my eyes open maybe one'll pop up somewhere, you never know.

Butthouse says thanks, OG! Mike, repairing would be substantially more that replacing...besides, fenders are cracked from impact, hood latch plate is messed up, and the center bar is crinkled.

gottcha . It looked like it was just a little piece of bent chrome from the picture . Man that sucks regardless . I'm sure someone can find that piece for you .
