It seems that all cars have their story and the owners have ones also.

I put together an ebook of over 75 hot rod and custom car illustrations with their stories. This collection includes articles that have been published in Rod & Custom, Custom Rodder and others. Included is some commissioned art, as well as interesting hot rods and collector vehicles I have owned since the 1960’s.

The Ebook publication was designed to read on your computer or tablet in PDF format or on a smart phone, and book readers in EPUB version.

Order Dreams & Memories download through HotRodArtwork.com for $1.99.

Here is another sample from the book. It is one I did for R&C. The '38s seemed to be one of the unloved Fords that back in the day were consigned to circle track racing.

For $2.00 this book has a lot more content than a couple of magazines!

Some FAQ's;

Q - What is the point of an e-book?
A - Originally I thought it would be a great way to share the art and some old hot rod stories. For $2.00 it would be something a person could download and read on their phone while waiting at the dentist office. I added a PDF version that may be used on tablets and computers. It would have been a $25.00 book in print.

Q - Why charge $2.00?
A - Certain sellers, like the Apple Bookstore, do not permit underselling the posted price on their site. Although it is not printed there are start-up costs, to sell a publication an ISBN number must be purchased.

Q - Who are you and why would I buy something from a FNG?
A - I am Jon Bell and have been doing hot rod renderings and building cars since the mid 1960's. I only post on H.A.M.B. when I can contribute some information so I still have the FNG status.

Q - How does this work?
A - If you order from me, www.hotrodartwork.com, the payment is handled through your credit card via PayPal. I send you a link to download the book.

Thanks for your response. Here is another subject from the book.

The 1938 Opal Kadette was a development of the small car designs GM pursued in the mid-'30's. The dies were later used by the Russians to produce the Moskvitch. This was one version I did for a build concept.

OK, that was a Russian car that I did for a client in Moscow. Some of the content in Dreams & Memories is stories about some of the interesting rides I owned or built. One example is this '51 Victoria that I updated in 1968 with a 331 Cad and a hydramatic. Original paint and interior is typical of could be found at the time. I bought this one in a wrecking yard for $25.

It’s $2.00!

Why $2.00?

I wanted to make something inexpensive that hot rodders would enjoy. Times are tough and I thought that some inexpensive reading might have appeal. It is the content of more than 3 magazines for the price of 1/3 of a magazine. And no ads!

I offer this through my site - www.hotrodartwork.com

But, it is available through all the big book sellers; Amazon, Google Books, Barnes & Noble and the Apple Book Store. That way it can be downloaded for your particular device.

A bus?

Yeah, actually I had 3 busses but, this was the coolest.

1947 Flxible Clipper, 409 Chev 425 horse with a 5 speed. I had to include the story of this in the book. It attracted attention like a fleet of fire trucks. Typical of most of the stories in the book it includes the history and evolution of my ownership.

The book features some commissioned project art. I tried to include a variety of subjects.

This was one for my own project. I still haven't gotten up the nerve to chop my ’51 but, like the idea and always got good feedback on it.

I did a few portraits of some of my old rides for the book. This '51 was mine in the mid-'60s. Hopped up flathead and orange paint resulted in too much police attention. The whole story is in the book.

Still only $2.00. This has to be the best deal here!

The PDF version runs 144 pages of content, over 75 illustrations and 80 photos. Count how many pages of real content, not ads, are in a magazine.

This looks great on the ipad and I'm sure it will on the new tablets and readers as well.

Did you get that tablet you wanted for Christmas? Dreams & Memories looks great on an iPad! Part of the reason I did an e-book is a reader can enlarge the illustrations.

Available at all the major booksellers to download for their devices. Still $1.99, a great way to test drive that new tablet or reader.
