Sorta new.
I posted awhile back but didn't stick around only because I was in a quandry about my first build. Originally, I was going for a mid-60's cruiser style, but slowly I've been falling in love with the idea of a kick-ass fast Deuce, somewhere between custom and traditional. I like the DP-90 and the unfinished touch, but I also like big engines and fat tires too. I'll probably go fenderless and keep it relatively low, but still driveable.
Hope that's enough of an intro for y'all

How low is still drivable? On a bumper car we used to put a lucky strike pack under the bumper http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif. It it touched it was just right.
anyway, welcome to the HAMB. Have ya started collecting parts yet? Just curious. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It's funny you ask about collecting parts. I just thought of that this morning as I was driving to work. I think I'll start with a shift knob or wheels or something. Need to get through christmas first.

Welcome,
Since you work for "Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords Magazine"

Not to bust your balls (OK, to bust your balls), it doesn't sound like you've figured out what you want to build at all.

That should be your daily driver. Easy and cheap. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Custom or traditional? That could mean a whole lot of things. Could be a winner, could be a confused mess of conflicting ideas. Maybe I'm just not getting it, but I don't see it. For your own purposes, you should clearly map out what you want.
Everybody else was being too nice. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I was wondering when the hazing process was going to begin.
You're absolutely right, I don't really know exactly what I want to do to the car yet, but I've always been one of those "How do I want to fuck shit up today" people. So I won't know what I want in the car until it's done... and it may never be done, but I'm starting with a Model A and going from there, low, but not too low, fast as hell, and some creature comforts, like padded seats.
I know, I know, don't be a pussy, but I'm not big on saddle soars.
Thanks for the warm welcome. I feel the love already.

Ok, I have to just chalk that one up to my lack of knowledge. This is going to sound lame now, but I thought they were the same thing, based on the mags I was reading.

That's a deuce (32). Model As were produced from '28-31. Weren't available in 3 windows either. But they are a LOT cheaper than 32's which is why I am building one...
