1949 Ford Shoebox 2 door Sedan Mild Custom. $18,500

This is a well executed car with much of the work done by professionals. We have been driving it daily and on trips for the last 5 years, and it is very reliable.

--Car was fully restored before being hotrodded and customized, New Wiring Harness, Transmission, Rear End and Driveshaft Rebuilt. New Brakes and all bushings, grommets and body mounts replaced.
--Car is converted to 12 Volt. Including stock Gauges, Generator, heater blower motor, the works.
-- Running a later 8BA Flathead motor. Motor was used and running. Got new Pistons, Rings and lower end. Valves not redone. Motor runs very well, Edelbrock Heads, and Dual Carb Manifold, New Mallory Dual Point distributor. Water pumps were new at time of rebuild, as was clutch and pressure plate. Electric Fuel pump. Headers and straight pipes with Flamethrowers.
--4 New Coker Wide White Wall Bias Ply Tires, Firestones.
--Nosed, Decked, Shaved. Lokar remote cable trunk release.
--Original third headlight accessory light, 53 Olds Sombrero Hubcaps. Steel Foxcraft Mercury Fender Skirts. All parts on this car are period correct to 1955. Very few replica parts were used in the recreation.
--Body is in Primer! DP 90. Does not rust as is water proof. I used primer on purpose, as that is what would have been correct in 1955. Car does spot and does have gas stains. It’s authentic!
--Extensive and unique pinstriping by Jim Hetz. Jim is from Muscatine Iowa. He is a well known, nationally ranked pinstriper in the old school tradition.
--Very high quality custom interior. Tuck and roll vinyl, Copper dash and window trim. Seats were completely rebuilt from the frames by a professional. Car sits and rides like new. Finished and carpeted trunk with spare tire cover that matches the interior.
--Chassis is extensively developed by professional builder. Frame is C notched, Jamco Front Sway Bar and Rear lowering springs. Fatman dropped spindles. Correct length KYB gas shocks for lowered chassis. Repositioned rear shocks to improve handling. Car is about as low as a static lowered car can be and still be practical. Handles very well. Ride is very acceptable for a lowered car.
--Carbs were rebuilt and motor was tuned by professional mechanic. Starts and runs reliably. Does not overheat in the summer, even in rush hour traffic.
--Rear Quarter windows have been replaced with solid windows to replace rear vent windows and improve appearance. Rear windows do roll down halfway.
--All new weather stripping and window channel and fuzzy strip. New windshield. New front door side glass, not installed yet.

There is probably more that I have forgotten. We tried to build the best car we could so that it would be reliable on the road, a periodic correct custom, and comfortable. I like the rough and ready primer/pinstriping look, and I never worry about my paint. When others are polishing, I am driving. This car draws a lot of attention, and has appeared on the Power Tour Website. My son and I build cars for a hobby (about one for year). We have limited space, so every once in a while something has to go. This is not a distress sale. We are moving on to the next hill to climb.
