I found myself in San Antonio for a conference this past week/weekend. Hours of meetings each day were driving me nuts. Luckily I had called ahead and found Barnett and Crease though. They were gracious enough to haul me around Friday night and show me some cars and art.

If anyone ever needs to know the secret of making leg room in a channeled coupe, call Crease. Killer car man. You've got it made - cruising a fast coupe in December with no windows (and not even being cold). You should dig that 'vert out also. It is too cool to be under wraps (or piles of crap in the garage http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif).

Barnett, man what can I say? Everything from the Econoline to your artwork just blew me away. I don't know shit about art but you gotta be one of the best. Your work is absolutely unbelievable. I can't wait to see my sign. I'll get a box of parts for your mod on its way ASAP.

I need to thank Ryan too. Without the HAMB I wouldn't have met Barnett and Crease.

I owe you one guys. Call if you ever get in the neighborhood. I hope Sammy C is good to you and your families.

Hey, I'm glad I was actually in town when someone came here! It was good to meet you in person and show you my shack and junk. If nothing else, I got a free pizza outta Crease! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Thanks again for the trade action on the parts...it's gonna expedite the build on my ugly little jalopy. Now...get to work on that pile of parts you've collected...there's a hot rod screaming to be put on the road!!

Hey, I resemble that remark!

Actually, the coop is home and I found the cause of the mysterious popping in the intake. Valve adjustment was the culprit. So in another month of so, when I get a day off to work on it, I'll finish adjusting the carbs and tranny and be in business.

Did ya ever get the numbers off your heads?

Buzzard,

Yeah, I can identify with the no time off work thing. It's 9:00 and Im still here. Cant wait to see how that car runs when you get er back on the road.

I havent had time to check my numbers yet. I thought I had found a sweet motor for it. Guy had a 71' Vette motor. I was anxious to snag it, but wanted to check the head numbers first. Found out that the heads had been swapped with "economy hecho in mehico" heads. Im guessin that aint what came on it. I think Im gonna do a shift kit and some slicks first. Probably see where that gets me then do the cam. I've been readin up on heads. Sounds like porting and polishing will only get you so far. Looks like Im gonna need to drop some relatively major cash. The wife would kill me if she could catch me http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I thought they were kinda large...I guess they would be if you had to carry them on a moped.
