I have some A roadster door skins from Macs- they look great......
I thought so. There about an hour from me.
A buddy of mine bought a bunch of tin for his '36 ford, lower patch panel stuff.
It all looked good to us.
I also have a few other guy's that buy from them regularly, i can't remember hearing them say to watch for anything..
Good luck .
Rat..
I might try them, prices seem okay? I was also looking at some EMS stuff but dont know their prices (Trent you reading this??) Also the EMS floors dont look like the stock ones (if that would matter, as long as they fit??) Has anyone else replaced the floors in their shoebox and can offer any advise? Thanks-

I think some or their sheetmetal is EMS. Call and check. They still may be cheaper than ordering from EMS direct cuz of the volume they can buy. See if Direct Sheetmetal has what you want. They have been good to me. MAC's is good--nice guys. Have always got good stuff and good service.

great stuff , i bought a fair amount from them when I did my T cpe and A sedan.catalogs are some of the best for line drawings ,more blow up shots than a factory manual showing what goes where.
I think I will try Mac's, been getting good feedback. I checked their website though and they say that the shoebox floors are discontinued! Hope that is not true! Does anyone know when they specify left and right if they mean passenger or drivers side? I need parts for both sides but I only want to order the pass. side now because that is what I have tore up and want to get it solid before I start the other side. If the floor boards are discontinued I may just buy the floor braces and make my own patch panels - might be alittle cheaper that way but I also dont want it to look like shit.

I've had good luck with them. I wish they'd send me a new catalog however. I don't ever get discount coupons. Maybe I don't buy enough stuff.

I can't vouch for their patch panels, but I really like Mac's. They're great to work with, and the speed of their shipping is phenomenal.
By the way, I'd like to take the opporunity to say that Obsolete Ford Parts sucks. And that's not my opinion alone:

I mean they really suck.

I bought a floor pan for my f-1 - it still had the EMS label on it. I've had nothing but good experiences from MAc's.

Been dealing with MAC's since the late 70's when my dad had a resto shop and I was just a kid. No problems then or now.

They are a great outfit. I bought my new tailgate for my truck from them and even with shipping it was cheaper than Wescotts & Sacramento Vintage Ford. Their catalogs are free and have some pretty go info in them.

Yes in deed, Mac's is one fine outfit to deal with.
And I'm very glad to see everyone agrees. not one negitive response.
Does anyone know how their prices compare to other places that carry shoebox sheetmetal? I talked to both EMS and Macs today and Macs was WAY cheaper (even though according to some of you guys some of the stuff they sell is EMS) Sounds like their service is very good, is their any reason for me to continue to price shop??

Iīve also done a lot of deal with Macīs and i like them alot. Good prices, fast shipping and as some one said, really nice catalogs.
At the door sill where the floor meets the rocker panel the floor board goes from horizontal to vertical, can anyone measure on a good floor how tall the vertical is? I am thinking of buying new floor braces (mine are too shot to use as patterns) and then making my own floors, they are literally flat so I think it shouldn't be too difficult. I will have to put a bend in it where it meets the door sill (that is why I need to know how tall it is). Then, for stiffness I will either roll a few beads (I think a friend of mine has a bead roller, I need to check) if not I am thinking of welding a couple pieces of that "U" channel floor brace to the bottom side or making making a square tube frame.
Anyone have any good floor braces I can get measurments from??

I can see I'm a little late getting to this thread. I had no problem with getting parts from Mac's, other than my floors. (This all took place more than a year and a half ago) I ordered the floors from MAC's and they just never came. I called several times, and from what I was told, it was a problem with the manufacturer. I was told that the floors are like the originals, but whoever produces them only makes so many at a time. I finally just canceled the order and bought mine from EMS. EMS says that their floors are more of a street rod style than original (which is code for "your gonna have to measure, cut, and modify 'em to fit" but once I got past the fact that they weren't going to just slide right in, it wasn't to bad of a job.

Damn Chris, Thats a really nice job you did there. I bet the floor is actually stronger than the oem stampings.
Lets see the rest of the car. looks like a 50 something merc or ford to me.

Thanks Roadstar. For as apprehensive as I was to get started, I'm really happy with the outcome. I figured that there was a clear-cut way to install 'em, but we just had to get in there and make it work. We trimmed the kick panels and swapped 'em side to side from what was recommended for the best fit, so I guess there's no right or wrong way. The car is a '50 Ford. I SHOULD have her out this spring. The pic is pre-floor install.
