Just playing around with the grill.I do not have a clue what I am doing just making it up as I go along!! I have molded the end caps into the fenders. Thinking of useing mesh in the opening ,drawer pulls? have to see what I can find , I have the chrome bumper inserts of a new mini ,may do something with them. What do you's think.
nice job so far...
but whats with the canadian flag eh?
Very cool, post more pics of the car. I have a 49, and I have been trying to find as many kustoms to get ideas and inspiration. Thanks

Good to see the Chevy taking shape. I think some really simple, floating grillebar would look great in that opening.

Thats the best shape Ive seen for a 49-52 chevy grille surround yet- I think it resembles a 50 Olds a little -I like..........

Kenny's right. The first thing I thought of when I saw the photo was "Oh, a 49-50 Olds." I'd have to follow through with a formed grille [possibly from graduating sizes of exhaust pipe] resembling the olds grille. It's really good looking.

Belfast hey. My folks are from Belfast. They emigrated here to Australia over 50 years ago. Always hear of rods and customs in England and on the continent, but never in Ireland. Actually have myself a '50 Fleetline here in my garage with other projects. It will get the full custom treatment one day. I liked the front treatment on the Kaiser in the Mooneyes pics. Nice to see stuff done a little different. Good luck with the '50

Maybe one less bar, more space between them? Continue the smooth filled area behind the grill up to the rad?
Car's looking good V8!

Looks good! Maybe a floating grille bar from a 51 Olds would be the perfect choice there?

How about the mesh blacked out and a 55 Buick trunk emblem centered on the mesh? Use two ovals of 1/2" tubing formed in the shape of the opening and chromed?

Lookin' good. I thought all the old cars in Belfast were used up in target practice long ago.
"And I still haven't found what I'm looking for..."
U2 can have a Chebby! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Hey man, I like the opening with nothing at all. No grille, no nothing, maybe some flat black mesh to hide the radiator.
