Anybody familiar with one of these? I got one cheap on egay and it looks small, simple and easy to mount.

If it can push or pull the steering arms on a relatively heavy 4x4, (Jeep Commando) IMO it should be strong enough for an AV8.

Am I correct, or should I lay off using cough syrup as a mixer?

This is with the clumsy (I've read) 4 part linkage, mine only came with the pitman arm.

4T6...The box should work mounted to the frame but will not work with cross steering or cowl steering. I could be wrong about the cross steering but the bracketry would be crazy.

I was checking these out at the junkyard a while back. They're a nice small box(about 5" wide, if I remember right). About the same size as a F100 box.

They are set up for draglink steering and like So-What said, too small for cowlsteer set-up.

I ended up using a Ross box from a early 50s International pick-up. Same box, but sits on top of the frame, not through it.

Wonder if the forged aluminum Ross steering boxes used on sprint and champ cars were the same dimensionally as the iron ones? Used lots back in the day cowl mounted. Just curious.

The pic on ebay has it sitting on top of the frame, but the pitman arm goes to the inside. I was thinking of making a bracket that mounts it upside down and rotating it 90 degrees, and positioning the arm so that it moves the right way, either hanging down or pointing up.
