LMAO!! not an EDSEL RANGER!!! it's a Ford Ranger pickup that we are pirating to build a modified roadster. likely with a fiberglass T-bod of some sort. gonna build a chassis and use most of the Ranger running gear. 2.0 4 banger with custom built intake and exhaust, 5 speed, Ranger rearend and maybe even the Ranger front discs if we can adapt them to a Model A (or whatever we find) I-beam front axle.
Jake is 16 and we are doing this as CHEAP as possible. gonna use all we can from the Ranger and fabricate the rest. i wish i was as good a mechanic at 16. it'll be a fun little rod when it's done. i can't believe people let their kids near me :D . i'm such a bad influence... but in a good way. :D

Ahhhhh man...thats too funny! I was wondering about the roadster part too! Heheheheh

Well, it isn't traditional in parts but it sure sounds traditional in construction methods!
Pssssssstttt......JAKE...run while you can!!!! Hahahaha

Naaaa...I bet you can make a killer little MOD with those parts. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Wonder could you simply build a straight tube axle from the outer bungs of the old Ford Twin I beams and use the Ranger spindles and all?

Although... now that I think about it...I'm not really sure if Rangers used kingpins or ball joints...hmmmmm?!?!
Whatever....I'm sure you'll make something work!

I LOVE Mods....:)
Best of luck guys!

i found some realy cool steel at the scrap yard the other day that we are gonna go back and get to use to build the chassis. i'll keep it secret for now, but once we get it lookin sorta like a chassis we'll let you all in on the secret ;) ...

never fear. even though this rod is based on a modern-ish drive train i think Jake is gonna give it a totaly traditional look and feel. after goin to BilletProof with me and Mongo he is determined to build himself a hot rod and i'm all about helpin him do it. plus i can use that to guilt him into helpin me on some of my numerous projects :D . good thing he lives right next door.
